We went to an Oakland A's baseball game. Kohlton was in HEAVEN! He loved watching the game. For Cody and Corden the best part was the Fireworks display after the game. To be completely honest it was the best fireworks show that I have ever seen in my life. (And I'm getting old) The fireworks lasted 30 minutes. It was absolutely amazing.
While in CA, I was able to purchase fresh picked strawberries from the fields and I made freezer jam, I also got blackberries. They were delightful. Some made it to the jam stage, but a lot got eaten.
Life has been hectic, all the boys started school in August. Cody is now in Mrs. Jones' third grade class. He loves science and she is so patient with him. It is good. Kohlton is in Mrs. Woods' first grade class. He hates to miss any school and is doing quite well. Corden is my half day Kindergarten with Mrs. Snow. I get to go in every other week and help out.
I too have been attending classes on line through Grand Canyon University. I am working on my teaching degree. If all goes as planned, I will be able to do my student teaching in August. Yippy!!! Along with my schooling, I have been substitute teaching 2-4 days a week, depending on the week. I sub K-12. I have also been working on Fridays at R Ewe Spinning knitting & crocheting hats, scarves, mittens, etc... as well as weaving shawls and other various items. I love it because I can be creative and I get to sell my work. FANTASTIC. You can look on the web at http://www.rewespinning.com . I can't ever remember a time that I truly loved what I was doing with work as I do now. I love my life right now.
Among other things we have managed to have a few trying times as well. In early October Mitch managed to have an accident while we were out cutting wood. He kicked a log and a cedar stick the size of a pencil managed to ram through the soul of his work boot, the gel insert, sock and into the ball of his foot. This has been an on going battle because his foot is not healing and keeps getting infected. I am ready to go CRAZY. Several Dr. visits and still it is not healed. Can you hear me screaming??? Along with that the boys and I managed to contract the H1N1 virus. The blessing? Well, we all got it at the same time. When the test came out positive and the dr said we would have to stay in for 5 days I didn't know weather to laugh or cry. Me being the strong one cried when I got home. It wasn't too bad and of course Mitch managed to not get it. He had to wait on us for a change. :D He did get the flu for two days and we got to return the favor and take care of him.
So... that is our little life in a nutshell. I will do my best to keep up with this as I have a moment here and there.
Love to all! Kim
